The B.Tech program in Information Technology was established in the year 2007 with an initial approved intake of 60 students by AICTE and is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK), Kakinada. Over the years, the department has grown in strength and stature. In line with this progress, the intake has been enhanced to 120 students starting from the academic year 2025–26. The department comprises a dedicated faculty team with expertise in diverse IT domains, many of whom are alumni of prestigious institutions like NITs, IITs, and leading universities. Aligned with the vision of Honorable Chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah, the department promotes academic excellence and holistic student development.

The major goal of the Department of Information Technology is to produce highly knowledgeable, competent, and resourceful young engineers who can excel in diverse roles across the IT industry. To achieve this objective, the department consistently makes dedicated efforts to build a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects, as outlined in the curriculum.

The department provides numerous opportunities for students to work on mini-projects, develop strong programming and communication skills, explore internships with leading IT companies, and participate in national and international hackathons and coding contests. Every year, our students secure placements in top-tier companies such as Amazon, Accenture, Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro, among others.
