The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2007 with a sanctioned intake of 60 seats and enhanced to 120 in the academic year 2025-26 for UG Program.The PG program “Power Electronics and Electrical Drives” was introduced in the year 2014 with an intake of 18 seats and currently it is 9. The department has well qualified and expertise faculty from various reputed institutions like NIT’S, IIT’S and reputed Universities carrying out the research on cutting edge technologies.

To emerge as the centre of academic excellence in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and to develop globally competent, ethically committed and socially conscious professionals.
Mission:
- To impart knowledge and skills through curricular and co-curricular activities to take up professional challenges in electrical and allied technologies.
- To inculcate the zeal for life-long learning and research by providing complete access to state¬-of-the-¬art facilities.
- To groom students into confident professionals with effective communication skills, leadership qualities, socially conscious by upholding ethical values.
The department is well equipped with the necessary laboratories like, Networks, Machines, Controls and Power Electronics and Simulation laboratories so that, the students can be able to excel themselves either in practical or software knowledge according their wish. Within a short time from its inception, the department conducted three national level conferences successively and successfully in three years. Most of the faculty publishes the research papers continuously in different journals.
