Hod's Message

Welcome to Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vignan’s Lara Institute of Technology & Science. Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and widest engineering disciplines which plays a major role in enhancing safety, economic strength, enjoyment and overall quality of life. The growth of a country is directly related to production of a country. The country can maintain the sustainability of development if production is done through a sustainable path.

Our goal is to give both undergraduate and postgraduate students high-quality engineering education. The Department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty, well infra structure and laboratory facilities. Our faculty members work in their research specialty with competent students on individual projects. They are regularly attending various faculty development programs, publishing research articles, and filing patents. Our faculty members have two major areas of research: Composites and Alternate fuels. These research domains strongly support the growing automobile, aircraft, spacecraft and marine industries. I am glad to share that many students are pursuing higher studies in reputed Indian and foreign universities. We try hard to ensure that our undergraduate students have a strong education with teaming and leadership skills, participation in student activities, practical background and internship experience. Our belief is that these areas will make them well capable to take leadership roles in the future. The core values of the Department help the students to build up their overall personality and make them admirable to compete and work at global level. I am confident that our students will prove to be very useful asset to an organization
